Bike Track Opening

Today Mahora School opened it's Bike Track.  We had a wonderful celebration!  A ribbon was cut by Craig Foss and balloons were released into the sky, Amy Martin who is New Zealand's best 15 year old BMX rider answered questions and rode the pump track, a clown came for a visit and two children from each class were chosen to ride bikes around one of the three courses.  This afternoon each class made a wheel biscuit - we used a plain biscuit, yellow icing and lollies to decorate.
It was such an awesome day... Room 1 had a fabulous time!

Caleb's Holiday Diary

Check out Caleb's holiday diary... hasn't he tried hard with his words :-)

What's up in Room 1?

We have had an amazing start to Term 2.  Our topic focus is Bees.  Today we drew what we thought a bee looked like and we also talked about what we already knew - we even have bees hanging from the middle of our classroom.... check them out :-)

At Maths time we are looking at seriation - ordering shapes from the smallest to the biggest.  We started this today and looked at the Gingerbread Man story.

Our story this week is "Grumpy Elephant" and today we cut up a sentence, matching words underneath.  Here is Jamie-Lee's work.
