Our Rocky Shore Trip

Wow, what an awesome day we had at Ahuriri. We left Mahora school at 9:15 and we were all so excited. We all hopped on the bus, the children started to sing, and away we went.
Bags on your backs, hats on, ready to go!

A bus full of 5 year olds!

We arrived at the rocky shore, we were met by two lovely ladies from the Aquarium, so we sat down ready to listen.

Yay, then down to the rocks to see what we could find.

We found a sea slug, did you know that if you stroke them gently the slimy cover parts and shows the shell inside?

 We found so many starfish.

                        We found a dead crab.

More starfish.

Another sea slug, some chitons and cat's                               eyes.

There was a lot of seaweed.

Time to leave the rocks and have some lunch.

After lunch we played on the two playgrounds.

                         Some helpful information.

Moving onto Marine Parade to go and visit Pania.

                      The children and Pania.

We listened to the story about Pania.

It was so hot, we had juicies while we were there.

We walked along the new lookout.

We are standing over the water.

It looks like we're sitting on the ocean!

A HUGE thank you to all of the parents and grandparents, who came to help with the children and the transport. this wouldn't be possible without you. :-)

Fun Activities in Team Tahi

We are getting more and more clever. Look at all the words we can write now.
We can read pointing at each word as we go.
We are gaining information.

We really enjoy sequencing numbers using the soccer and flower cards.

.
We can make models using the building blocks

Dress up time, is someone looking for their prince?

We are making bar models to add numbers together.

This is the only time they are allowed to write on the table!
They are practising writing high frequency words.
