The Old Oak Tree

Today we read a great story called "The Old Oak Tree" at Reading time.  It is the story of a boy who plays with three friends near an Old Oak Tree.  The friends are a Frossil, a Freeblie and a Frabbit.  We did a cut and paste activity about this today.  Here is Logan's work - 

Our Kindergarten Visit

On Thursday 10 April Room 1 went for a visit to the Mahora Kindergarten.  We had a great time playing on the equipment outside and then we also had the opportunity to play indoors.  Here is a photo of most of the class in the home corner area!

3 Clever Magic Tree People in Room 1

We have three clever children in Room who have been learning their Magic Tree words and letters.  Caleb was able to say all of the alphabet sounds and knew all of his Ladybug words.  Juztice knew all of his Teddy Bear words.  Jynav knew all of his alphabet letter names.  Way to go Boys!!!!  Aren't you clever!!!

Painting Today

Today Room 1 had our second attempt at painting using the palette paints.  We are getting very good at mixing the paint and using our paintbrushes.  Next week we will be doing our own creations :-)

 

Rr... Rabbit

This afternoon we made rabbits :-)  We were lucky to have our Big Buddies to help us too.

Maths for Week 8

For Maths this week, as a class focus, we are learning to order numbers to 10.

Circles Group are learning to recognise numbers and make sets to 10.  We will be using the app Doodle Buddy to create sets - 

Squares are learning to say the number before and after to 10. 

Diamonds are learning to add small numbers using their fingers.

We are turning into real mathematicians!

Painting - Using the Palette Paints

On Friday we enjoyed using the palette paints for the first time.  We learnt how to use water to get the colour brighter.  We also learnt how to hold and use our paintbrush.
Next week we will be making patterns.  We can't wait!

Greedy Cat
