We've finally got action in Team Tahi!!!

Hi everyone,
Thank you for being so patient while you were waiting for my new learning to take place.
I have had a wonderful 6 weeks with your beautiful children and there have been so many things happening.

Art Deco time...we made sparkly headbands and gorgeous bow ties to set the tone.

Some wonderful friends of the school came in and took the children for rides in their cars. The children loved it.

 We have been practising writing our names, letters and words. 

  We are getting faster and faster at writing them and recognising the words.

We have been learning about each other....'All about me'
Who is in my family/whanau?
What is my favourite colour?
What is my favourite fun activity?
What is my favourite food?
What pets do I have, or if I could choose a pet, what would it be?
What would I like to be when I grow up?

Activity time...learning to share, take turns, help each other and develop our literacy knowledge and skills.

Then we had Whanau night, it was great meeting so many parents and grandparents. It gave me the chance to put faces to the names and give you an idea of what a school day looks like in our class.

Team Work

Team Tahi divided into 3 groups today with the goal of designing a marble run using painted recycled cardboard tubes.  

Team work is the name of the game

The girls were triumph in that their marble run went in a zig zag!  The girls reckon being respectful of each other working as a team was the key to their success!  Well done girls!!!

HELMETS OFF TO DYLAN - YOU DID IT!

Dylan displayed two of our Mahora values today - Self and Attitude.You never gave up Dylan - you trusted yourself and Jo and you made it!  We are so very proud of you.  Mahi pai Dylan!

GREATS AND GRAN'S DAY

Thanks for coming into our classroom Greats
and Gran's - we loved having you.

We loved sharing our learning with our Greats and Grans last week.  We made a easel to display a poem we made, a story about what we will be when we grow up and our very own handprint with a lovely poem .  Our Greats and Grans loved our "old" looking photos!
